Protected: Voice Of The Child In Family Court Matters
The Alberta Law Reform Institute (ALRI) is currently reviewing how the voice of the child is considered in family court matters. Meaningful participation by children during family law disputes has been shown to produce better outcomes for the children and their families. It also has benefits for other stakeholders, including lawyers, mental health professionals, social service providers, and government.
ALRI’s law reform project will include a legal education component and a review of whether Alberta legislation should expressly recognize the right of a child to have their voice heard in court matters that affect them.
